Both of the Healthy Start Workforce Project’s courses have been endorsed by the College of Nurses Aotearoa for professional development hours.

The College commended the online education programme, examining the impact of nutrition and physical activity in pregnancy and the early years on long-term health, as a much-needed course.

It will be worth eight professional development hours for nurses.

The Healthy Conversation Skills workshop which provides participants with skills to support clients with lifestyle behaviour change was seen as a valuable teaching tool.

It has been awarded six professional development hours for nurses.

Healthy Start Project lead, Susan Miller, says the project team is thrilled to have the endorsement of the College of Nurses Aotearoa.

“We’re so pleased to have the backing of the College and their recognition of the value of our programmes.  We believe nurses across the spectrum will benefit from both courses and look forward to working with them,” she says.

Nurses can register for both courses here.
